Man was created to have intimacy with God with the fullest possible fellowship and partnership with Him. His Word promises us that as we pursue and seek to know Him and to do His will we will begin to understand His plans, His ways and we will know that His desire is for us.

Whenever there is a willingness, like today, to seek the face of God and open our hearts we will find Christ there.  What a joy!  As we fix our thoughts on His glorious work by praising Him, we begin to dwell in that holy place, and we find ourselves thinking on whatever is trustworthy, good, noble, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8).

God promises us that as we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us (James 4:8). God wants to be sought by us, and He is also eager to reveal Himself to those who love Him.  As we cultivate and honour this relationship, by seeking His face, God reveals Himself to His people.

Our desire will increase by dwelling with Him looking fully into His wonderful face.

As the song says, there is perspective for us in the looking unto Jesus and beholding His face that the things of this world will grow strangely dim.  It’s not just a song; it’s a promise available to each one of us. God is ever present as we bow our knees in complete surrender to His amazing grace.

Let us continue to look to His face for direction, security and peace in our lives. There is healing for our land and hope for the Nation as we seek and mediate upon His Word while looking for His mercy. He will not hide His love from us when we look to Him. Our feelings of inadequacy are washed away as we see His loving eyes upon us, His people.

The Bible is full of exhortations for us to be seeking the face of God. God loves to spend the time with us, and we need to spend time with Him.

 (Psalm 119:58) ‘I have sought your face with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise.’

(Psalm 80:30) ‘Restore us, O God; Cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved!’
