The Eagle Way No 20

Today stir your passion for seeking and knowing God

In Scripture the word “seek” means:

To seek the face of God; to desire; to explore; to seek earnestly; to diligently search for; to crave; to investigate; to pursue.

It is God who touches our hearts and gives us the desire to seek Him, and to know Him more.  Then it is for us to want His will, His plans, and His ways above our own.

“For it is God who works in you to will and act according to His good purpose.” (Philippians 2:13)

David asks for God to help them keep faithful to His covenant, and to be unified with His purposes.

“O Lord, God of our fathers, keep this desire in the hearts of your people forever, and keep their hearts loyal to you. And give my son Solomon the wholehearted devotion to keep your commands, requirements, and decrees…” (1 Chronicles 29:18-19)

Intimacy with God is to have the fullest possible fellowship and partnership with Him.  This comes as we desire and seek to know Him more. He then reveals His plans, His will and His ways to our hearts and minds. It is then our desires and will begins to change.  Prayer and spending time with God is all about our desire and passion for more of God in our everyday lives.  It is a discipline of choice in our Christian walk.

“If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways, so I may know you and continue to find favour with you… Show me your glory.” – This was Moses prayer. (Exodus 33:13,18)
